About Taller/Sobre el Taller
In its continuous efforts to maximize resources, more critical in this very challenging economic times, Taller has pursued opportunities for expansion by increasing contractual and programmatic collaborations to meet increased demand, improve quality of services and generate new sources of tuition and income. Taller has built capacity by working with the Eastern North Philadelphia Youth Services coalition, the City of Philadelphia, the College Access Program, and others. Through these efforts Taller improved quality while increasing the number of children served in on-going Art Classes to an additional 150 participants. To expand audiences, Taller collaborates with community partners to bring Feria del Barrio every year, and this year was called to participate in a collaboration with the Philadelphia International Festival for the Arts inspired by the Kimmel (PIFA). “Bridges” was a ground-breaking collaboration that included Taller, members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, Intercultural Journeys, and the Artists & Musicians of Latin-America (AMLA). Together we produced and hosted a series of festival-related events, and joined efforts to produce a Grand Finale in Taller’s campus on N. 5th St. on April 29th, 2011, connecting this 10-month collaboration in a carnival-like and unforgettable concert and evening that attracted a very diverse audience of over 300. Another example is the current collaboration with the Annenberg Center included in this program. Please note the 3 scheduled events and contact the Annenberg Center. For the three events at the Zellerbach theater, Taller members get 20% discount * promotion code TALLER20 *. Groups of 10 or more save up to 25%.
